South Denali Birding Tour

As the summer sun returns, millions of birds flood into Alaska from as far as Southeast Asia, New Zealand, and Antarctica. They are here to nest, and the sound of bird song fills the air. Later in the summer, baby birds are everywhere, bulking up for long journeys or longer winters. Your guide, a local expert birder, will take you to pristine habitats such as boreal forest, rivers, and lakes. You will use binoculars, a spotting scope, and your ears to search for residents and migrants including trumpeter swans, Arctic terns, spruce grouse, American dippers, boreal chickadees, loons, eagles, and thrushes. Early summer is best (May/June).
Three hours: $245 for up five persons, $49 per additional person.
Six hours:
$470 for up to five persons, $94 per additional person.

Two sides of Denali Tour

Why take the train? Travel between Talkeetna and Denali National Park with your own chartered van and local guide. Stop along the way to see wildlife, hike a trail in Denali State Park, or photograph the continent’s highest peak. $425 for two people, plus $50 per additional person.

Look for Denali, North America’s highest peak, and hear tales of a summit climb from someone who’s actually been there. Search for stories in the snow – tracks left by the area’s abundant wildlife - and take home a healing salve made from native plants.
Includes water, hot chocolate, a delicious homemade treat, ski poles, overshoes, and snowshoes.

"I had an amazing trip to Alaska in June with lots of hiking and photography. The "icing on the cake" was near the end of my trip, a Custom Day Hike with Howard Carbone in Denali State Park. Howard is the "Real Deal" when it comes to Alaska nature, hiking and photography - an amazing day with a great person and photographer that I will not forget. My next trip to Alaska will surely have more custom hikes with Howard, and Alaska Nature Guides." Harry Ford. Tucson, Arizona, USA

"Thank you for a great experience. We were amazed by the beauty of Alaska. The birding tour was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. It went way beyond gaining life birds...it was seeing the Pacific loon, white winged crossbill, varied thrush etc in wonderful places: the lakes, rivers, gorge; the crossbill eating at the tree top and flying between trees. Walking around Byers Lake, hearing the loon. Hearing about you and your family's life in Alaska. Thanks again." Pat and Neal Gause
