Just south of Denali National Park is a secret gem – a wonderland of spectacular sights, inviting trails, and pure Alaska nature. Come explore the South Denali area with us! Sharing this area on foot is our passion, and we always go the extra mile to provide guests with a safe, fun, and memorable experience. We are a respected local, family-run business with friendly naturalist-guides who will take you to Alaska’s most beautiful places. And we take care of the areas we visit with the goal of protecting the pristine wilderness we share.
The South Denali area is our big, beautiful backyard. We offer trips in two locations: The greater Talkeetna area and Denali State Park. For our Talkeetna trips, we pick up anywhere in Talkeetna. For our Denali State Park trips, we pick up at the Mt. McKinley Princess Lodge, meet us in Denali State Park, or schedule a custom private trip with pickup in Talkeetna.
Denali State Park
The national park’s little sister has stunning scenery, lush boreal forest, and abundant wildlife, but without the crowds and buses! Take our Denali Wilderness Hike onto Curry Ridge, which has the most jaw-dropping Denali views of any trail, or our mellow Byers Lake Nature Walk to immerse yourself in natural splendor. Meet us there for a scheduled trip, or book a private custom trip, which can include transportation from Talkeetna.
Talkeetna
This charming frontier town is the gateway to the South Denali wilderness. Our Talkeetna Lakes Hike features crystal-clear lakes, lush boreal forest, and local naturalist guides. At 3 miles, it’s perfect for most people, is close to town, and includes transportation. Join our 6 p.m. hike or book a private custom trip and you pick the time. Or you can take a Talkeetna heli-hike in untracked wilderness. In winter, join us for a snowshoe hike.
